Rawanq is proud to announce the acquisition of two pelagic freezer trawlers, Al Tidra and Al Asifa, which have now officially joined the company's expanding fleet. Both vessels departed Las Palmas de Gran Canaria on 25 June and are currently making their way to Nouadhibou, Mauritania, where they will begin fishing operations in the days ahead.

Sister vessels built in 1989, Al Tidra (formerly Ieva Simonaityte) and Al Asifa (formerly Simonas Daukantas) are factory stern trawlers of approximately 120 metres in length and 7,765 gross tonnage. Each combines substantial catching capacity with a full onboard processing factory and extensive frozen storage, qualities that align closely with Rawanq's commitment to delivering high quality pelagic products to the global market. Previously operated under Lithuanian flag and carefully maintained over many years of service, both vessels join the fleet in very good condition.

Ahead of entering service, the two trawlers completed comprehensive dry dock programmes in Las Palmas. The yard period covered maintenance and technical preparation and reflagging to the Sultanate of Oman. During the stay both vessels were also repainted in Rawanq's blue livery, introduced last year alongside the company's renewed identity, bringing them into line with the unified look of the fleet.

A particularly welcome outcome of the transition is that almost all crew members from both ships have chosen to continue sailing under Rawanq, and we kindly welcome the crew to the Rawanq team. Their experience and continuity will be of great value for the fleet and the company.

Joining as the eighth and ninth vessels in Rawanq's pelagic fleet, and as sister vessels to Al Rahma already in service, Al Tidra and Al Asifa mark another meaningful milestone in the company's steady growth.
