Operational update from the fleet in Oman and Mauritania

A powerful photograph taken off the coast of Oman by Sæmundur Árnason, captain of Al Naema, shows the vessels Jawhart, Viking 1 and Al Nasr operating together in open waters. The image highlights strong coordination and a forward-looking approach as the fleet continues its work across the region.
Since early January, crew teams have focused on refining fishing strategy and enhancing collaboration between vessels. The season has demanded adaptability, and the fleet’s response has been structured, cohesive and forward-driven. For the first time, the three vessels have carried out an organized search beyond the continental shelf, maintaining three nautical miles between each ship and covering waters stretching south from Duqm. This disciplined approach marks a significant milestone in expanding exploration and maximising future opportunities.
Viking 1 is nearing completion of technical adjustments to its net drum system, with specialist support engaged to ensure full performance. The operations team remains confident that once fully online, the vessel will make a strong contribution alongside its fleet counterparts.
In the tuna fishery, activity has been steady. Vessels such as Nour and Hawwa continue systematic search operations in international waters, while Layla has returned from dry dock in excellent condition and is performing exceptionally well, effectively operating like a new vessel.
In Mauritania, seasonal conditions are beginning to improve following what is traditionally the most demanding part of the year, bringing increased confidence and momentum to ongoing operations.
As the fleet progresses through the holy month, the company extends warm wishes of Ramadan Kareem to all crews, partners and stakeholders. With strengthened teamwork, expanding search areas and high operational standards, the fleet is well positioned for continued success in the months ahead.
