Al Nasr and Al Rahma complete dry dock

Two of Rawanq's pelagic trawlers, Al Rahma and Al Nasr, have completed their scheduled dry docks and are ready to return to fishing. Regular dry docking is a key part of keeping our fleet safe, reliable and efficient, and this autumn the work took place at two very different yards, one in the Canary Islands and one in Oman. Both vessels also received a fresh coat of paint in Rawanq's signature blue, as seen in the pictures, bringing them fully in line with the look of the rest of the fleet.
Al Rahma: our first vessel, back to work from Las Palmas
Al Rahma holds a special place in Rawanq's history. She was the company's first vessel when operations started in 2021, and she has been at the heart of our pelagic fleet ever since. At 120 metres and with a gross tonnage of 7,765, she is also one of our largest vessels and a sister ship of Al Tidra and Al Asifa, which joined the fleet earlier this year.
For her dry dock, Al Rahma returned to our proven partners at Astican shipyard in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. Operating since 1976, Astican is one of the leading ship repair yards in the Canary Islands, and its large ship lift and long quays make it a natural choice for vessels of Al Rahma's size. With the yard work and class surveys completed and her new blue livery in place, she is now ready to return to the fishing grounds.
Al Nasr: a first for Rawanq in Duqm
Al Nasr joined Rawanq from Iceland in 2024, where she sailed under the name Ernir. Like Viking 1, she proved herself in the demanding Icelandic fisheries before joining us, and she has since shown herself to be a great vessel in our operations in both Angola and Oman.
This was the first time Rawanq used the dry dock in Duqm, and the experience was excellent. Operated by Asyad Drydock, the yard sits on Oman's Arabian Sea coast, has two large graving docks and has carried out more than 2,200 dockings, making it a valuable option for our fleet close to our Omani fishing grounds. Al Nasr completed her dry dock on 13 October, freshly painted in Rawanq blue, and will now continue fishing in Omani waters.
We would like to thank the crews, our technical team and the teams at Astican and Asyad Drydock for their hard work.
